Job description
About Osara Health
Osara Health aims to improve cancer care by helping individuals and organisations affected by cancer do more than simply cope — the goal is to help them thrive. The company combines digital tools, one-to-one health coaching, and research-backed educational content to give people living with cancer the support, clarity, and confidence they need. Its programs are delivered in partnership with insurers and employers so they can reach members and employees.
Role overview
This position is for a health coach focused on cancer support. The coach supports people who have been diagnosed with cancer as well as caregivers of people with cancer, encouraging practical behaviours supported by clinical evidence, such as exercise, nutrition, and symptom tracking. The role relies on empathy, encouragement, and accountability to help participants set meaningful goals and work toward them. The coach guides participants through Osara programs primarily by email, phone, and SMS.
Working pattern
The role is remote and begins at 2 days per week. Over time, the workload is expected to rise to 3 days per week.
Responsibilities
- Run scheduled program calls that cover the key areas of holistic cancer support for both patients and caregivers.
- Use SMS and email to follow up with participants, keep them engaged, and arrange calls.
- Reach out to people who have received a cancer diagnosis to help them enrol in the program.
Requirements
- Background in healthcare, together with a relevant qualification and/or 1 to 3 years of prior experience in areas such as nursing, allied health, or public health.
- Health coaching training or practical coaching experience is also suitable.
- Strong people skills and clear communication, with the ability to build trust and rapport with participants.
- Comfort working in a team environment.
- High levels of empathy, patience, compassion, and a positive approach.
- Self-motivated and proactive in day-to-day work.
- Good computer and IT skills, including experience working remotely.
- Familiarity with Slack and Apple computers.
Compensation
The salary range is $70,000 to $80,000 plus superannuation, with final pay depending on experience.
