Role Overview
We seek compassionate and dedicated individuals eager to positively impact patients' lives through the role of Healthcare Support Worker. This role involves delivering direct patient care and support within a fast-paced clinical setting, promoting safe, effective, and person-centered care. Position Details
- Permanent contracts available for full-time (36 hours) and part-time (33.18 hours) positions
- Work location: Glasgow Royal Infirmary
- Rotational shifts with full flexibility
- Salary is pro rata for part-time hours
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver personal care to patients with dignity, respect, and compassion
- Assist patients in daily living activities such as feeding, bathing, and mobility
- Support Registered Nurses and other healthcare team members in patient care delivery
- Monitor and communicate changes in patients’ physical and emotional health
- Maintain precise patient records and support effective communication within the clinical team
- Carry out housekeeping, manage stock, and ensure safe use of ward equipment
- Adhere strictly to NHSGGC policies, procedures, and infection control protocols to ensure safety of patients and staff
Required Qualifications and Skills
- SVQ Level II qualification in a relevant field or comparable experience through training and practical work
- Capability to function efficiently in a demanding healthcare environment while upholding high care standards
- Strong verbal and written communication aptitude to foster positive relationships with patients and colleagues
- Keen observation skills for detecting and reporting changes in patient conditions
- Understanding of confidentiality and commitment to dignity, respect, and person-centred care principles
- Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team and work under Registered Nurse supervision
- A caring and empathetic attitude; prior experience in care roles is advantageous
