Overview
OPERS is hiring a Health Care Specialist to support members through complex health care and benefits processes. This role is well suited to someone who enjoys solving problems, working in a fast-moving environment, and providing high-quality service while helping others every day.
Role summary
The specialist will use advanced knowledge to act as a subject matter expert for health care eligibility. The position is responsible for handling enrollments, plan changes, and terminations across the health plans offered by OPERS, always following OPERS rules, statutes, plan documents, policies, and procedures.

The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in health care and benefits administration, solid communication skills, and a detail-oriented approach. You should be able to work independently, show initiative, and be comfortable thinking creatively when solving issues.

Compensation and benefits
The salary range for this position is $55,619.20 to $69,492.80. OPERS also offers a comprehensive benefits package, professional development opportunities, retirement benefits, wellness resources, and workplace conveniences designed to support employees and their families.
Work setup
This role is based in Columbus, Ohio and offers a hybrid arrangement with up to 3 days remote.
