Job Overview
Cowper Care Centre is inviting applications for the position of Health Care Assistant at St Patrick's Care Centre, situated in Baldoyle, Dublin 13. The primary aim of this role is to deliver high-quality, person-centred care to residents that is both effective and efficient.
Key Responsibilities
- Support residents in maximizing their independence and assist them in attaining the best possible quality of life.
- Ensure residents are given every chance to live and pass away with dignity and respect.
- Provide comprehensive holistic care to residents, ensuring their dignity and equality are always upheld.
- Under the supervision of the Clinical Nurse Manager, carry out assigned personal care tasks including washing, toileting, dressing, undressing, dining support, and other daily living activities.
- Participate in organizing and facilitating social, recreational, and educational activities that enrich the residents' environment.
- Enhance both the emotional wellbeing and physical comfort of residents.
- Contribute to care delivery according to the care plans and report any noticeable changes in residents’ physical or mental condition.
- Help maintain a safe environment for residents, employees, and visitors alike.
- Assist in meal service, being mindful of residents' dietary needs and required assistance.
Candidate Requirements
- Prior experience within a nursing home or comparable healthcare setting.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
- Desirable qualifications include a QQI Level 5 Certification in Healthcare Support.
- Familiarity and experience in dementia care are advantageous.
