Role Overview

The successful person will support construction activity across sites in Galway and Athlone, with some travel to parts of Limerick where needed. The position centres on maintaining compliance, carrying out safety audits, and helping teams work in line with health and safety requirements across multiple projects.

Key Duties

  • Make sure construction operations follow all relevant health and safety rules and regulations.
  • Carry out safety audits on a large commercial project and across other construction sites.
  • Inspect work areas regularly to identify hazards and put corrective actions in place.
  • Deliver practical guidance and training to employees on safe working practices and procedures.
  • Review accidents and incidents, complete investigation reports, and recommend steps to prevent repeat issues.
  • Keep clear and accurate records of inspections, incidents, training, and related documentation.

Skills and Experience Required

  • At least 2 to 3 years of experience in a comparable health and safety role within construction.
  • A relevant health and safety qualification.
  • Strong eye for detail and the ability to spot risks quickly.
  • Good communication skills for training and advising site teams.
  • A car driving licence is preferred to support travel between sites; a company vehicle may be arranged.
