Role overview
The employer is seeking a proactive and experienced Health and Safety Officer to strengthen workplace safety across its operations. This position is focused on making sure the organization follows health and safety laws while also building a strong, everyday safety mindset across teams.
Key responsibilities
- Create, roll out, and keep health and safety policies and procedures up to date.
- Carry out routine site checks and assess workplace risks.
- Look into incidents, identify causes, and suggest corrective measures.
- Provide safety training sessions and toolbox talks for employees.
- Ensure the business remains compliant with applicable health and safety regulations.
- Keep detailed and accurate safety documentation, records, and reports.
Requirements
- A degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or a closely related discipline.
- Previous experience working in a comparable health and safety position.
- Solid understanding of health and safety legislation and compliance requirements.
- Strong verbal and written communication, along with good organizational ability.
- Confidence to work independently and positively influence others.
Desirable experience
- Professional certification such as NEBOSH or an equivalent qualification.
- Background in construction, manufacturing, or industrial settings.
