Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Health and Safety Advisor to join a leading civil engineering contractor located in Wexford, County Wexford, Ireland. This role is integral to fostering a safety-first culture within the construction utilities sector, ensuring the health and well-being of team members while supporting operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out detailed risk assessments specifically designed for civil engineering projects.
- Conduct thorough investigations of incidents and produce comprehensive reports to support continuous safety improvements.
- Design and implement employee training initiatives aimed at enhancing safety awareness and compliance.
- Perform routine safety inspections and audits to detect hazards and enforce adherence to safety standards.
- Prepare and manage all health and safety related documents, maintaining meticulous records.
- Ensure all activities comply with relevant safety regulations and collaborate across departments to resolve safety issues.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- A Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Occupational Safety and Health Management (Level 8) or equivalent qualification.
- Between three to five years of professional experience with proven success in improving operational safety practices and heightening safety awareness.
- Additional certifications such as Manual Handling or Abrasive Wheel instructor trainer qualifications and First Aid training are beneficial.
- Experience working in civils utilities related to water, electricity, or telecommunications sectors is preferred.
- Skilled in creating and presenting PowerPoint presentations and delivering regular toolbox talks.
- Possession of relevant certifications such as Safe Pass, Manual Handling, along with a valid full driving license.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual salary ranging from 60,000 to 70,000.
