About the Role
We are collaborating with a prominent Irish construction firm to hire an experienced Health and Safety Advisor. This role offers the chance to join a well-established company renowned for delivering major construction projects throughout Ireland. You'll be an integral part of a collaborative Health & Safety team focused on maintaining and improving workplace safety on high-profile projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist Health & Safety guidance across active construction sites.
- Assist site management in executing Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct site audits, inspections, and compliance checks.
- Help develop, review, and implement risk assessments and safe working methods.
- Oversee lifting operations, temporary works, permit systems, inductions, fire and emergency procedures.
- Lead investigations into accidents and incidents, determining root causes and recommending preventive actions.
- Foster a proactive safety culture through coaching and engagement with project teams.
- Contribute in safety committee meetings and support ongoing safety improvements.
- Manage risks impacting employees, subcontractors, and third parties effectively.
- Prepare regular Health & Safety reports for senior leadership.
- Develop strong collaborations with Directors, Project Managers, Site Managers, and subcontractors.
Qualifications and Skills Required
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or related field.
- At least three years of experience in a Health & Safety capacity within the construction sector.
- Comprehensive understanding of Irish Health & Safety legislation and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills capable of influencing various stakeholders.
- Proactive mindset with strong organization and problem-solving abilities.
- Valid full driving license.
