Role Overview

As Head of Wealth & Trading, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the region's trading and investment activities, ensuring the business is fully licensed, scalable, and compliant for millions of users. This role involves managing the entire trading lifecycle from regulatory authorization, product strategy, governance, risk management to financial performance and commercial oversight.

Responsibilities

Serve as the key regulatory liaison in the UAE, engaging with bodies such as the Securities & Commodities Authority (SCA) and Central Bank to secure licenses, approvals, and maintain compliance.
Develop and implement local governance structures tailored to regional requirements.
Ensure strict compliance with securities laws, conduct and consumer protection standards by collaborating closely with Compliance and Legal teams.
Own the frontline risk management framework for the local Wealth & Trading team.
Champion a proactive culture focused on ethical conduct, transparency, and customer-first principles, including product suitability and appropriateness.
Lead, coach, and develop the local team, including succession planning.
Maintain strong cross-functional partnerships with global counterparts in Wealth & Trading, Operations, Compliance, Finance, and Engineering to drive cohesive business outcomes.

Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, engineering, or a related discipline.
Substantial experience within brokerage, wealth, or trading environments at banks, brokers, fintechs, or regulated financial institutions.
Demonstrated success in launching, managing, or revamping retail brokerage or wealth management platforms.
Deep knowledge of retail investment products like equities, ETFs, fixed income, alongside the full trading processes including client onboarding, funding, order handling, settlement, and client service.
Expertise in best execution, client order management, product governance, and appropriateness assessments.
Proven experience liaising with regulators, handling inquiries, inspections, and remediation efforts.
Experience working closely with product and engineering teams in technology-driven environments.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to influence senior leadership.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities to navigate and make decisions in fast-paced growth settings.

Preferred Experience

Familiarity with UAE-specific securities regulations and conduct rules.
Previous roles within top-tier wealth/trading firms, investment banks, or brokerages in the UAE or GCC region.
