Overview
A prestigious luxury jewellery company supported by Private Equity is looking for a Director of Operations and Supply Chain. This pivotal leadership role supports a renowned brand with retail presence throughout Europe and the US, recently bolstered by substantial external investment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full spectrum of operational processes, including sourcing, purchasing, product feasibility, production, quality, inventory, logistics, and ESG initiatives.
- Provide strong functional leadership to ensure products meet the highest standards of craftsmanship, quality, availability, cost efficiency, and ethical sourcing.
- Oversee sourcing and procurement strategies.
- Align purchasing activities with commercial objectives.
- Supervise product feasibility assessments and supplier relationships.
- Lead manufacturing and workshop (atelier) operations.
- Implement and monitor quality control and assurance procedures.
- Handle inventory management, demand planning, and stock supervision.
- Manage logistics and fulfillment operations.
- Drive leadership development and organizational growth.
Required Experience and Skills
- Demonstrable experience in fine jewellery production processes.
- Deep knowledge of materials, craftsmanship techniques, manufacturing processes, and product integrity standards.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams within luxury or high-value product industries.
- Strong commercial insight focused on cost management, margin optimization, quality maintenance, and product availability.
- Operational proficiency encompassing supply chain, production, inventory control, and logistics.
- Exceptional skills in supplier management and negotiation.
- Experience with international sourcing and manufacturing networks.
- Capability to function effectively in both strategic planning and detailed hands-on roles.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and supply chain/inventory management technologies.
- Track record in process improvements, cost reduction, and supplier performance enhancement.
- Proficiency in the German language is mandatory.
- Willingness to undertake international travel as necessary.
