Head of Startups and SimOps (Dukhan)

Role Overview

This leadership role involves managing and supporting Lead and Senior Commissioning Engineers, OV Discipline Engineers, and Technicians to ensure consistent implementation of design, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities for operational projects. The focus is on adherence to approved procedures, engineering design, safety, environmental standards, and defined scope of work. The position also ensures Operational Area Asset Owners are prepared to take control and operate assets safely and sustainably upon handover.

Responsibilities

• Lead managerial support and coordination for commissioning and startup teams within project execution.
• Ensure standardized and consistent application of project design, commissioning, and startup workflows.
• Work closely with project teams and contractors to align execution with procedures and safety standards.
• Guarantee readiness of the operational asset owners for safe, reliable, and sustainable asset operation post-delivery.

Requirements and Experience

• Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline.
• At least 15 years of cumulative experience covering operations, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup of oil and gas onshore or offshore processing and production facilities.
• Minimum of 8 years in a commissioning management role.
• Experience with international reputable oil and gas operating companies is preferred.
• Exposure to project, engineering, and EPIC contracting companies is advantageous.
• Experience working within Arabian Gulf countries is desirable.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership abilities.
• Proficiency in IT and analytical skills, with capability to perform well under pressure.
