Key duties
- Provide leadership for the school’s Special Education Services, offering strategic guidance, expert advice, and specialist support to school leaders, teachers, and staff so inclusive practices and suitable adjustments for students with disability are implemented effectively.
- Oversee the design, delivery, and review of targeted interventions, case management, and specialist support programs for students who need supplementary, substantial, or extensive adjustments, and help coordinate access to departmental and outside specialist services.
- Establish, apply, and track school-wide systems and processes, including student data handling, disability records, and the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD), to support compliance and ongoing improvement.
- Develop and sustain strong partnerships with parents, carers, government agencies, and community organisations to improve educational results and wellbeing for students with disability.
- Manage the human, financial, curriculum, and physical resources of Special Education Services, while contributing to whole-school leadership, strategic planning, decision-making, and staff professional learning to advance school priorities.
