Role Overview
We seek a proactive and experienced leader to head our Regulatory and Licensing efforts in the Middle East. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of the regulatory landscape for crypto-assets and stablecoins in the region and be eager to leverage their legal or regulatory expertise in a dynamic environment.
This role requires continuous development, including mastering our products, blockchain technology, and regional regulations. You will act as a liaison between regulators and the company to align policy initiatives with our business objectives across multiple sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Keep abreast of regional regulatory changes affecting Tether and affiliated entities.
- Foster and maintain strong relationships with regulatory bodies, central banks, and financial intelligence units.
- Represent Tether in regulatory consultations, workshops, and roundtables.
- Prepare in-depth briefing materials, submission letters, and policy feedback aligned with global strategies.
- Identify and capitalize on opportunities to influence emerging frameworks with a focus on innovation and risk management.
- Evaluate and determine licensing requirements for regional operations.
- Collaborate with internal teams and regional advisors to secure necessary regulatory licenses and authorizations.
- Provide strategic guidance on regulatory impacts during product launches or regional expansion plans.
- Contribute to executive reports assessing regional policy risks and regulatory trends.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum eight years' experience in governmental affairs, regulatory affairs, or legal roles, preferably within financial services or crypto-asset sectors in the Middle East.
- Proven leadership experience managing regulatory teams in financial or digital asset industries.
- Track record of effective engagement with regulators and policymakers, achieving favorable policy outcomes.
- Advanced communication skills, capable of explaining complex regulatory matters to diverse audiences.
- Skilled in coordinating multiple stakeholders across different countries and time zones.
- Excellent public speaking and representation capabilities in regulatory forums.
- Strong collaborative mindset and the ability to work independently within cross-functional teams.
