Head of Project Management

Role overview

Our client is a rapidly expanding developer and turnkey provider of integrated commercial energy solutions. The business focuses on utility-scale photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects for industrial and commercial clients, handling the full project journey from concept and engineering through procurement, construction, and performance optimisation.

Due to strong growth, they are seeking a Head of Project Management to lead the project management function and drive successful delivery across the PV and BESS portfolio.

What you will do

• Guide, coach, and strengthen the project management team working on PV and BESS developments.
• Take ownership of the complete project lifecycle, from early planning and design through execution, commissioning, and final handover.
• Set, refine, and enforce project management frameworks, operating standards, and governance practices.
• Track and control project budgets, schedules, risks, and stakeholder expectations.
• Work in close alignment with engineering, procurement, construction, and grid connection functions.
• Contribute to strategic planning and allocation of resources across the project pipeline.

What they are looking for

• Demonstrable background in project management across PV, battery storage, or wider renewable energy infrastructure.
• An engineering degree, ideally in Electrical, Industrial, or Energy Engineering.
• Proven ability to deliver large, technically complex projects from start to finish.
• Experience managing, leading, or mentoring project teams in a dynamic setting.
• Solid understanding of EPC delivery models, grid connection requirements, and energy project execution.
• Commercially minded, with strong control over budgets, risks, and contractual commitments.
• Fluent or highly proficient German and English language skills.
