Job description
Role Overview
The Head of Project Engineering acts as the principal engineering authority for the Infrastructure and Civil aspects of the QatarEnergy MIC Business Park major initiative. This senior leadership position oversees the entire engineering discipline activities throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring adherence to technical standards, engineering integrity, and alignment with overarching project goals. The role demands strategic oversight to deliver solutions that are safe, high-quality, timely, and cost-effective, following corporate guidelines and best practices in the industry.
Key Responsibilities & Experience
- Lead engineering discipline teams through all phases of project execution, with strong governance and management skills.
- Apply deep expertise and extensive experience in Infrastructure and Civil engineering within the Oil & Gas sector, focusing on large-scale projects.
- Manage project parameters including schedule, budget, and quality across complex and multiple project environments.
- Ensure compliance with industry best practices, company systems, processes, and engineering standards.
- Foster effective communication with diverse stakeholders, including conflict resolution and conducting multi-disciplinary meetings.
Educational & Professional Credentials
- Hold a Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering field from an accredited university, with advanced degrees preferred.
- Membership in a recognized professional engineering institution is required; Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is considered a plus.
Additional Required Competencies
- A minimum of 15 years directly related experience in Oil & Gas infrastructure and civil projects, predominantly in major execution phases.
- At least a decade of leading engineering discipline teams on significant projects, with no less than five years in managerial or leadership roles.
- Strong command of English for technical report writing, presentations and leadership during multidisciplinary discussions.
