Overview
We are partnering with a globally recognized manufacturing company located in Northern Germany, seeking an experienced Head of Production. This leadership position involves overseeing a regulated Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environment that produces products distributed worldwide. This is a growth-focused role, not a turnaround, aimed at enhancing structure, accountability, and consistency as the department evolves.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a department of approximately 30 employees across various production functions, reporting to the Production Director.
- Manage operational performance, strategic production planning, GMP compliance, people development, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide leadership through a team of Group Leaders with a balance of hands-on floor management and strategic organizational development.
- Establish and reinforce accountability, communication, and performance management systems.
- Support the department's growth while upholding stringent GMP standards without disrupting the current successful operations.
Requirements
- Proven leadership experience in a GMP-regulated manufacturing setting.
- Experience managing teams via supervisors, team leaders, or group leaders.
- Strong background preferred in pharmaceutical manufacturing; candidates from biotechnology, food and beverage, or other highly regulated sectors will also be considered.
- Demonstrated ability to enhance processes, improve performance, and restructure organizations effectively.
- Fluency in German and strong English language skills.
- A leadership approach that balances clear direction with coaching and staff development.
