Job description
Role overview
This opening is shared through a hiring partner on behalf of the employer, and that partner will handle applications and the next stages of the process. The company is seeking a Head of Product for its Core Team in Ireland.
In this position, you will set the direction for a strategically important core platform that supports payment infrastructure used globally at scale. You will take full ownership of the Core Platform and Public API product lifecycle, defining how enterprise customers and developers connect with and use the system. The role blends hands-on technical product leadership with broader coordination across engineering, compliance, and commercial teams. Your focus will be to open up new product possibilities, speed up integrations, and grow adoption in international markets. Working in a fast-moving, high-growth setting, you will be expected to set priorities, keep stakeholders aligned, and drive strong execution. This is a highly influential role where your choices will shape platform scalability, developer experience, and business expansion.
Key responsibilities
- Set the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Core Platform and Public API, making sure it supports the wider business goals and long-term platform direction.
- Run discovery with internal teams and external partners to uncover friction points, promising opportunities, and valuable product enhancements.
- Own delivery of platform features from concept to release, working closely with Engineering to define scope, prioritize work, and launch capabilities across core services and APIs.
- Convert strategic goals into clear product specifications that engineering teams can execute against with confidence and alignment.
- Strengthen the developer journey by improving documentation, SDKs, integration materials, and self-service tools so customers can connect faster.
- Serve as the main product contact for leadership, sales, account management, compliance, and marketing during launches and platform communications.
- Balance product priorities and trade-offs so engineering time is spent on the highest-impact initiatives.
Requirements
- 6 to 10 years of product management experience, including a strong history of delivering complex technical products alongside engineering teams.
- Solid expertise in API-based platforms and payment systems, with familiarity with PCI compliance, 3DS, authentication, retries, routing, and version control.
- Ability to operate strategically and tactically, turning product vision into detailed requirements and completed releases.
- Strong stakeholder-management skills with the ability to earn trust and create alignment across both technical and non-technical groups.
- Excellent communication and judgment, especially in fast-changing, high-pressure environments.
- Sharp analytical and problem-solving ability, with close attention to detail and a bias toward scalable solutions.
- Fluent English and experience collaborating with cross-functional teams across multiple regions.
Benefits
- Remote-first role with the freedom to work from anywhere.
- Competitive compensation package based on experience.
- Equity or stock option participation.
- Allowance for a home office setup plus company-provided work equipment.
- Health coverage, subject to location.
- Flexible paid time off to support work-life balance.
- Chance to help shape a high-impact global payments infrastructure product.
