Role Overview
The Head of Procurement & Supply Chain Management position is a permanent, full-time role based in Nuremberg within the Operations Support department. This leadership role entails full strategic and operational accountability for procurement, supply chain, and logistics functions, aiming to establish stable workflows, achieve cost efficiencies, and foster robust supplier and stakeholder relationships. The role also involves advancing modern, process-driven supply chain management structures and scalable logistics to support company growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and strategically advance a high-performing team covering procurement, supply chain management, and warehouse logistics.
- Ensure continuous improvement and effectiveness of the procurement and SCM organization, including inventory management, demand planning, order processing, and logistics coordination.
- Drive team growth by targeted hiring and ongoing talent development initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with Product Operations and Engineering to maintain optimal material availability and timely supply.
- Develop and refine efficient SCM and logistics processes to sustainably underpin corporate expansion.
- Hold comprehensive accountability for all procurement activities, encompassing strategic sourcing, supplier and contract management, and cost and efficiency optimization.
- Lead ERP system implementation to professionalize and enhance the SCM organization.
- Partially manage export control compliance ensuring adherence to applicable regulations and establish representation protocols.
- Conduct strategic planning and KPI-driven management to ensure operational performance and sustainable growth.
Candidate Profile
- Degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or similar, complemented by relevant professional experience.
- Several years of leadership experience managing interdisciplinary teams, including recruitment, personnel development, and budget control.
- Strong expertise in procurement processes, strategic purchasing, supply chain management, and logistics.
- Experience in overseeing complex projects, preferably including ERP implementation initiatives.
- Excellent communicational and problem-solving abilities, with an independent and structured work approach.
- Fluent in both German and English, verbally and in writing.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel as required.
