Job description

Role overview

This is a senior procurement leadership opportunity with a fast-scaling renewable energy developer working on a large portfolio of utility-scale wind, battery energy storage systems (BESS) and transmission projects across Australia’s National Electricity Market. The organisation is supported by major investment and is contributing directly to the country’s energy transition.

In this position, you will report into senior leadership and take ownership of procurement strategy as well as commercial execution throughout the entire project lifecycle. You will partner closely with engineering, development, finance and legal functions to deliver commercially strong and bankable outcomes.

This position may be located in Melbourne or Sydney.

Responsibilities

  • Create and roll out procurement strategies for large-scale renewable energy developments.
  • Drive engagement with suppliers, manage tender activity and lead commercial negotiations.
  • Negotiate EPC, OEM, equipment supply and long-term service contracts.
  • Oversee procurement for wind, BESS and balance-of-plant packages.
  • Develop and maintain strategic supplier partnerships while keeping watch on global supply chain exposures.
  • Support project financing by ensuring procurement outputs are commercially sound and finance-ready.
  • Maintain strong governance, active risk control and ongoing process improvement across all procurement work.

Requirements

  • A degree in Engineering, Commerce, Law, Supply Chain or a closely related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in procurement, commercial operations or contracts management.
  • Hands-on experience negotiating EPC, OEM or other major supply agreements.
  • Solid knowledge of project finance principles and what makes a project bankable.
  • Strong negotiation ability and the confidence to manage multiple stakeholders effectively.

Why this role stands out

  • Take the lead on procurement for major renewable energy projects.
  • Join a fast-growing platform with investor backing.
  • Be part of a business with an active development pipeline and more than 600MW of operating assets.
  • Work across utility-scale wind, BESS and transmission projects.
  • Enjoy a collaborative environment with meaningful long-term career prospects.
  • Benefit from flexible working arrangements and competitive pay.
