What the Club Is Looking For
Applicants should hold a degree in one of the following areas: physiotherapy, sports therapy, sports rehabilitation, sports science, strength and conditioning, medicine, performance science, or a similar discipline. The role also requires FA or football-specific emergency care qualification such as EFAiF or ATMMiF, along with experience leading within a high-performance sports environment, preferably professional football.
A flexible approach is essential, including the ability to work evenings and weekends.
Key Duties
- Lead the senior leadership group within the high-performance department.
- Promote and maintain consistently high standards and a performance-driven culture across the department.
- Work closely with the Head Coach to shape the department’s philosophy, operating principles, and day-to-day approach so they align with the wider football philosophy.
Application Process
Candidates must apply through the club’s careers page and submit a CV, a brief cover letter explaining how they meet the role requirements, and their full education and employment history. Any gaps in employment or education should also be explained.
Shortlisted applicants will be required to complete a social media review and an enhanced DBS check, both of which will be funded by the employer.
If an accessible version of the job description, person specification, or application form is needed, applicants should contact the HR team at HR@burnleyfc.com.
