Job description
Your Mission
NeuroNation is looking for a senior People leader to take ownership of talent, people operations, and retention for a science-driven digital health company based in Berlin. The role sits close to leadership and will help shape how the company hires, develops, and supports its teams as it continues to grow. The initial mandate also includes building the function further, including hiring an office and talent coordinator or junior recruiter.
The business has spent 15 years developing evidence-based digital products that support cognitive health. Its portfolio includes a B2C brain-training app and NeuroNation MED, a permanently DiGA-certified digital therapy program. The role is designed for someone who enjoys solving complex hiring challenges in a regulated environment and who can combine strategic thinking with practical execution.
What You Will Be Responsible For
- Designing and improving the company’s approach to talent acquisition, including hiring processes, interview practices, and the wider recruiting setup.
- Personally managing end-to-end hiring for the most important and hardest roles, from intake discussions through to offer stage.
- Building proactive candidate pipelines through sourcing and direct outreach, especially for niche, senior, and highly specialized profiles.
- Leading initiatives that strengthen retention, engagement, onboarding, development, and feedback culture across the employee lifecycle.
- Overseeing people operations and ensuring core HR processes run effectively and in line with applicable requirements.
- Working as a partner to the management team on strategic people topics and contributing to leadership decisions.
- Preparing and coordinating recurring people-related reporting for the holding group, including headcount, hiring data, and related business metrics.
- Shaping employer branding and candidate experience so the company is positioned strongly in Berlin and within the digital health market.
- Ensuring people practices are fair, compliant, and aligned with German employment law and AGG expectations.
Your Profile
This role calls for an experienced People and Talent professional who is comfortable operating at both strategic and hands-on levels. The company is seeking someone who can build and lead a small team while still stepping in directly on critical searches and processes.
- At least 10 years of experience across talent acquisition and/or people functions, with proven ownership of full-cycle recruitment for senior or difficult-to-fill roles.
- Experience building a function or materially shaping one, along with readiness to manage and grow a small team.
- Strong exposure to both recruiting and people operations, with the confidence to support the full employee journey rather than hiring alone.
- A true player-coach mindset: capable of contributing at management level while also doing the day-to-day execution personally.
- Well-developed stakeholder management skills, ideally including collaboration with boards, holding groups, or similar senior governance structures.
- Fluency in both English and German is required because of the people operations, legal, and reporting context.
- Must be based in Berlin and open to hybrid working.
Nice to Have
- Background in healthtech, medtech, regulated digital health, DiGA, or deep-tech settings.
- Experience with Personio or a similar HR/ATS platform.
- Exposure to employer branding, structured interviewing, or building people processes from scratch.
What NeuroNation Offers
- A leadership opportunity with meaningful scope to build within a mission-led company that has a long track record and a certified medical product.
- Flexible working arrangements, including core hours and up to three remote days per week.
- A Berlin office at Gendarmenmarkt with a roof terrace, events, snacks, and drinks.
- A tailored onboarding program to help you quickly understand the products, teams, and organization.
- Flat structures, open feedback, and space to take initiative and bring ideas to life.
- The chance to influence products that support cognitive health for millions of people.
Equal Opportunity Statement
The company welcomes applications from people of all backgrounds and makes hiring decisions based on qualifications, experience, and fit for the role.
