Job description
About the company
Blackwall is a founder-led cybersecurity and hosting SaaS business that is expanding quickly. The team has grown from roughly 30 employees to more than 100 in less than two years, and the company continues to scale internationally. It operates as a fully remote organisation across several countries, cultures, and employment arrangements.
Role overview
This position is suited to a senior People leader who can succeed in a fast-moving, sometimes unstructured, founder-led setting. The right person will be comfortable creating order and scalable processes while the business continues to change.
Key responsibilities
You will own the People function end to end, including hiring, People operations, performance, compensation, compliance, and the overall employee experience across multiple countries. You will report to the Fractional Chief People Officer and work closely with the CEO, founders, and wider executive team. You will manage the Talent Manager and HR Generalist directly, with room to expand and shape the team over time. You will also maintain and refine People policies and frameworks, knowing they may need to be revised, simplified, and adapted as the company grows.
The role is highly hands-on, requiring a balance between strategic direction and daily execution in a changing environment.
Recruitment and talent
You will lead senior-level and difficult-to-fill hiring, including proactive sourcing, headhunting, and confidential recruitment processes where needed. You will protect hiring quality while keeping pace with business needs in a competitive technical talent market. Recruitment workflows and decisions will need to be managed pragmatically with a strong focus on outcomes.
Global scaling and compliance
You will oversee People operations across several countries, employment structures, and cultures, working in close partnership with external payroll, legal, and compliance specialists. The role calls for strong global compliance knowledge while keeping processes lean and avoiding needless bureaucracy. You will also help leaders navigate different legal requirements and cultural expectations in a remote-first setup.
Stakeholder management
You will work closely with a founder-led leadership group, turning unclear or changing priorities into practical People actions. Part of the job is resolving friction and miscommunication constructively, bringing clarity without increasing tension. Sensitive and confidential situations must be handled with discretion, care, and strong judgment.
Remote-first culture
You will contribute to building and sustaining a strong remote-first culture across time zones and regions. You will also support managers in running distributed teams in a consistent and effective way.
About you
You should bring at least 8 years of experience in senior People or HR positions within fast-growing businesses. Experience in cybersecurity, hosting, SaaS, or similar technical and e-commerce environments is preferred. You need solid practical understanding of global employment law, contractor arrangements, payroll, and operational compliance, along with experience working with external providers across multiple jurisdictions. A degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related subject is required.
You should be resilient, pragmatic, emotionally intelligent, and comfortable working in founder-led environments where priorities may compete and ambiguity is common. The ideal candidate is also hands-on, adaptable, open-minded, and genuinely interested in evolving working models as the business develops. Previous experience in fully remote organisations and an understanding of remote culture at scale are important.
Why join
This is an opportunity to help shape and stabilise the People function of a fast-growing global technology company. You will work directly with senior leadership and influence how the organisation expands and operates. The role offers long-term scope and the chance to make a meaningful impact in a business with strong momentum and ambitious plans.
Diversity and inclusion
The company is committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace and encourages applicants from all backgrounds to apply. Diverse talent is actively valued and welcomed.
