Role overview

The company is seeking a senior commercial leader to spearhead its European expansion for advanced polymer-based building materials and infrastructure piping solutions. The business operates internationally, with manufacturing bases across Asia and a recognized global brand, and is now investing in a stronger local presence in Europe through distributors, strategic partners, and a dedicated sales team.

This position is intended for an experienced professional with a strong background in piping systems, polymer products, building materials, or industrial construction supply chains. The selected candidate will drive market entry and growth across major European markets such as Spain, France, Germany, and Italy.

Work location note: The role requires the candidate to work in Madrid, Spain, with a hybrid arrangement or work-from-anywhere setup, provided there is regional travel as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Design and carry out market-entry and growth plans for Europe, with accountability for sales and revenue goals.
  • Source, appoint, and oversee distributors, agents, wholesalers, and other B2B partners in the building materials and construction supply space.
  • Create and manage the regional channel structure, including pricing approach, market segmentation, and distributor performance controls.
  • Handle negotiations with major partners, construction companies, and procurement decision-makers across the region.
  • Track market movements, competitor activity, regulatory changes, and updates to building standards to inform commercial decisions.
  • Set up and grow the European sales organization, including hiring and onboarding local commercial staff.
  • Work with headquarters to align production capacity, supply chain readiness, and regional sales priorities.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and senior-level business meetings throughout Europe.
  • Develop durable partnerships with important industry stakeholders to improve market reach and brand presence.
  • Share regular updates on performance, market intelligence, and strategic recommendations with senior management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Administration, Engineering, International Trade, Marketing, or a similar field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in sales leadership, business development, or market expansion in piping systems, polymer manufacturing, building materials, or related industrial sectors.
  • Strong track record in B2B channel creation, distributor management, and cross-border business growth.
  • Exposure to construction supply networks, industrial distributors, or infrastructure material suppliers.
  • Good understanding of the European building materials market, including pricing, distribution structures, and procurement methods.
  • A pre-existing network of distributors, agents, or procurement contacts in the European construction or building materials industry is a strong plus.
  • Experience with international trade activities such as contract handling, logistics coordination, and cross-border commercial operations.
  • Strong negotiation, stakeholder management, and commercial planning abilities.
  • Entrepreneurial approach with a proven ability to build new markets into scalable revenue streams.
  • Effective cross-cultural communication skills and comfort working with Asian headquarters teams.
  • Professional fluency in English is required.
  • French fluency is preferred; Spanish or Mandarin would be an added advantage.
