Job description
Role overview
Chanel is looking for a strategic regional leader to shape and deliver the organisational effectiveness and change agenda across Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand. The role sits within the People and Organisation function and is designed to help the business build stronger structures, future-ready capabilities, and better ways of working that support long-term performance, growth, and cultural alignment.
As a trusted partner to senior leaders, you will influence how the organisation is designed, how change is managed, and how new capabilities are built across the region. You will work closely with the Director, P&O SEAA and other cross-functional stakeholders to ensure the organisation remains efficient, scalable, and aligned to Chanel’s strategic priorities.
What you will do
- Lead the regional organisational effectiveness agenda by reviewing how the business currently operates, identifying improvement areas, and working with senior leaders to close capability and performance gaps.
- Develop organisation design approaches that support different operating structures such as centralised, hub-and-spoke, and hybrid models.
- Contribute to workforce planning solutions in collaboration with the global team.
- Design and drive transformation and change initiatives that strengthen business and people outcomes over the long term.
- Identify the critical skill areas the business requires and create pathways to build those capabilities across the region.
- Set up a practical and repeatable change management framework that can be used consistently across the organisation.
- Ensure organisation design, transformation, and ways of working are clearly tied to business results and measurable impact.
- Work directly with senior stakeholders to shape a future-ready operating model and influence strategic decisions.
- Support project deliverables as needed.
What the role is energised by
- Understanding how organisations truly function beyond the formal org chart, including the barriers and levers that affect effectiveness.
- Creating change that becomes embedded in everyday behaviour, leadership, and decision-making.
- Working in fast-moving and uncertain environments while bringing clarity, structure, and direction.
- Facilitating senior-level discussions and helping leadership teams challenge their assumptions.
- Building communities of practice that strengthen capability across the region.
- Turning organisation design and transformation work into measurable business value.
- Using diagnostics, evidence, and data to shape recommendations and make strong cases for change.
- Creating frameworks, toolkits, and governance models that can scale across markets.
What you will bring
- Substantial experience in organisational effectiveness, organisational development, or a closely related discipline, with evidence of work delivered at scale and with measurable results.
- Hands-on expertise in change management, including stakeholder engagement, change impact analysis, communication planning, and adoption tracking.
- Proven ability to build repeatable and scalable change management frameworks.
- Experience creating internal change capability through toolkits, leadership coaching, and support for HRBP communities.
- Strong capability in organisational diagnostics, workforce planning, effectiveness assessments, and data-based decision-making.
- Good commercial judgement and an understanding of how people-related choices affect cost and organisational efficiency.
- A creative and experimental mindset with the confidence to test new approaches.
What Chanel can offer
- A people-first environment where individuality is respected and employees are encouraged to grow into their best selves.
- A dynamic, creative, and inclusive culture where your work can have a real influence on people and culture.
- The chance to develop with a company that carries more than 100 years of heritage.
- Exposure to a matrixed organisation and opportunities to work on complex, challenging goals that support development and growth.
- Meaningful work that supports individuality and helps empower employees.
Key measures of impact
- A clear organisational effectiveness diagnostic completed within the first 12 months, along with an improvement roadmap that is acted on.
- A reviewed and redesigned regional operating model, where needed, with clear accountability across divisions and functions.
- New skills and capability building linked to workforce and organisation changes.
- A consistent and scalable change management framework in active use.
- Successful delivery of major transformation initiatives with lasting behavioural and performance improvements.
- Change adoption rates monitored and reported across priority initiatives, with evidence that changes are sustained beyond launch.
- Strong business impact and effective partnership with senior stakeholders.
