Head of Operations

Overview

We are looking for a seasoned operations leader to take charge of the organization’s core business functions. In this senior executive role, you will shape and refine how the business runs day to day while also steering broader initiatives that improve efficiency, strengthen performance, and support long-term growth.

The position calls for a strategic thinker who can connect operational execution with company objectives, guide teams across departments, and create systems that help the organization scale sustainably.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and roll out operational policies, procedures, and strategies that contribute to business goals and expansion.
• Direct routine operations to maintain high standards of productivity, efficiency, quality, and service delivery.
• Define, track, and improve KPIs, performance dashboards, and reporting structures.
• Lead process improvement efforts, workflow optimization, and broader operational transformation programs.
• Work closely with executive stakeholders to ensure operational plans support strategic priorities.
• Manage budgets, forecasts, resource allocation, and measures to control operating costs.
• Spot operational risks and put mitigation plans, governance controls, and continuity measures in place.
• Oversee workforce planning, organizational effectiveness initiatives, and employee development programs.
• Coordinate vendor management, procurement-related activities, service partners, and other operational relationships where needed.
• Ensure adherence to internal policies, legal and regulatory obligations, industry practices, and quality standards.
• Lead cross-functional projects and change initiatives that improve business performance and scalability.
• Build and mentor strong teams while promoting ownership, teamwork, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Background in operations management, business operations, general management, or another senior leadership role.
• Solid understanding of operational planning, process improvement, organizational effectiveness, and performance management.
• Proven ability to guide cross-functional teams and handle complex operational environments.
• Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, cost optimization, and performance analysis.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, stakeholder management, and decision-making abilities.
• Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, Operational Excellence, or Continuous Improvement methods is a plus.
• Strong analytical thinking, strategic judgment, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage immediate operational needs while keeping long-term business goals in view.
• Demonstrated record of improving efficiency, productivity, profitability, and operational growth.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Management, or a related subject is preferred; an MBA or other postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
