Head of Operations

About the role

For a fast-growing climate-tech company based in Karlsruhe, we are looking for a Head of Operations who will help build and scale the operational setup from the ground up. The business develops smart IoT solutions that improve heating systems in apartment buildings and commercial properties, combining proprietary hardware with its own cloud platform and well-known customers to support the decarbonization of existing real estate.

This is a build-and-scale leadership role for someone who does not want to only manage existing structures, but instead wants to shape a nationwide operations organization and play a key part in the company’s next phase of growth.

What you will do

• Set up a nationwide operations structure across Germany.
• Build, lead, and develop an installation team.
• Recruit, coach, and scale the operational workforce.
• Take ownership of scheduling, dispatching, and quality control.
• Design processes, standards, and playbooks for operational execution.
• Introduce suitable field-service tools and KPI frameworks.
• Work closely with the founders, product development, sales, and finance teams.

The role is open to two different profiles:

Experienced leadership profile: several years of experience in building or scaling operational organizations; leadership experience with skilled technical or commercial teams; background in areas such as SHK, energy services, metering services, building technology, smart metering, photovoltaics, or technical field service; a strong combination of hands-on execution and strategic thinking.

Growth potential profile: initial leadership experience in a technical or operational environment; background in areas such as SHK, energy services, metering services, building technology, smart metering, photovoltaics, or technical field service; high drive and willingness to take responsibility; basic technical understanding of installations or field service; ambition to grow into a larger leadership role.

Working conditions

The role is based in Karlsruhe and follows a hybrid setup, with a strong on-site presence required at the beginning and also a high level of travel activity. The compensation package is attractive and will depend on experience and scope of responsibility. A company car is provided. The planned start date is immediate.
