Job description

Role overview

iungo Academy is hiring a process-focused Head of Operations to take charge of the full delivery journey, from learner enrolment through training, assessment and examinations, right up to offboarding. This is a key leadership position based in Cardiff, working on site on a permanent full-time contract.

The role reports to the Group CEO and is suited to a mid-career professional who is ready for a meaningful step up. You will use strong people leadership and process improvement skills to raise operational standards across a complex, regulated environment.

The position offers a salary of £40,112 to £44,850, aligned to Level 7–8, with 37.5 working hours per week.

What the role covers

You will be responsible for improving how resources are used, strengthening process performance, and safeguarding quality across the delivery operation. Working through a layer of managers, you will help ensure the training teams, exam centres, and tutor groups operate efficiently and consistently.

Core duties

  • Improve how resources are allocated and used across the training and examinations operation, working with the Operations Manager who handles day-to-day oversight.
  • Guide and support tutor teams, led through Learning Experience Managers, as well as the Strategic Centre Managers.
  • Take ownership of the full operational flow from enrolment through training, assessment, examinations, and offboarding.
  • Keep standard operating procedures tight and effective so the organisation remains fully compliant in highly regulated settings.
  • Drive ongoing process improvement by removing bottlenecks, reducing inefficiencies, and raising overall delivery quality.

What they are looking for

The ideal candidate has proven experience improving complex workflows and may hold a Lean Six Sigma qualification or something similar. You should be comfortable leading through managers and bringing together different teams around one shared standard of excellence.

This opportunity is aimed at someone who wants to move into a broader leadership role and turn strategy into reliable day-to-day execution. A strong eye for detail, a commitment to compliance, and the ability to maintain pace without compromising standards are essential.
