Job description

About the Company

Dyson is a worldwide technology business that is expanding quickly, with plans to enter more categories, open in more locations, and hire additional people. The company began U.S. operations in 2002 and has since scaled significantly. Its U.S. headquarters is in Chicago’s Fulton Market area, and it also maintains an office in New York City. In addition, Dyson has teams in field sales, service centers, and a growing network of Dyson Demo Stores across the country.

The organization values an in-person campus culture where people can collaborate, learn, and grow together. This approach has helped create a lively and connected workplace environment.

Role Overview

This position is responsible for leading Dyson’s U.S. media direction across all channels. The role combines full-funnel planning and activation to strengthen both brand and category performance. You will work closely with category leaders and cross-functional partners to build annual plans, improve campaign results, and increase the impact of media investment.

What You Will Do

  • Design and execute yearly media plans for each category, along with broader brand initiatives that span multiple categories.
  • Spot promising and emerging media channels, then test, evaluate, and improve approaches based on results.
  • Plan budgets, build cost models, and prepare different spending scenarios to support business goals.
  • Create and manage a Brand-to-Demand operating structure that supports both long-term brand growth and direct sales outcomes.
  • Lead media mix modeling work in partnership with insights teams, analytics specialists, and agency partners.
  • Share clear MMM findings with stakeholders and encourage ongoing review, learning, and performance improvement.
  • Define agency KPIs, monitor optimization efforts, and work to improve return on investment.
  • Oversee agency partners to ensure the right audiences are reached across digital and traditional channels throughout the buying journey.
  • Make sure campaigns launch on time and that media spend delivers strong value.
  • Work with global teams to monitor performance, refine planning, and roll out digital initiatives.
  • Guide integrated digital campaigns in close collaboration with e-commerce, retail.com, and affiliate teams.
  • Use analytics and major digital platforms to increase site traffic, conversions, and average order value.
  • Manage budgets, negotiate vendor services, and create end-to-end media views for each stage of the funnel.
  • Recruit, coach, and energize a high-performing media team.
  • Promote expertise in digital media, encourage continuous improvement, and support communication across internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in business or a similar field.
  • At least 10 years of total marketing experience, including 5 or more years in digital marketing and 3 or more years in senior leadership positions.
  • Strong experience with consumer-brand transactional websites, paid search, and analytics.
  • Solid understanding of media channels, digital creative assets, web technologies, campaign optimization, media mix modeling, and ROI analysis.
  • Proven background in managing agencies, directing projects, leading teams, and communicating clearly.
  • Hands-on, forward-thinking, and highly detail-focused.
  • Familiarity with major analytics tools; certification in online search marketing is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.
  • Strong capability in project management, leadership, and team building.
  • Good understanding of Dyson’s brand and values.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this role is between $168,000 and $210,000, plus bonus potential.

Dyson’s reward package reflects its high-performance culture and includes financial, lifestyle, and health benefits.

  • 401(k) plan with employer matching up to 4%.
  • Company-funded life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment coverage.
  • Flexible Spending Account and Health Savings Account options.
  • Competitive paid time off, with separate holiday, sick, and vacation leave.
  • Pre-tax commuter benefits in eligible locations.
  • Generous childcare leave program.
  • Wellness program support.
  • Employee Assistance Program.
  • Discounts on Dyson products.
  • Multiple healthcare coverage levels.
  • Vision and dental coverage.
  • Company-paid short-term and long-term disability coverage.
