Job description
Role overview
The Head of Marketing Services will take charge of 33 USA’s full service-delivery organization, spanning PR, social media marketing, cross-media advertising, events, brand production, bilingual business facilitation, and creative services. This position is being transitioned from the CEO, who currently oversees these areas as well. The role carries responsibility for how the teams are organized, the quality of service delivery, and the execution standards across all divisions, along with accountability for meeting the semi-annual gross profit targets assigned to each service team.
Reporting to the CEO, this leader will work day to day with business development teams in the US and Japan to align the right people to the right projects, ensure strong client experiences, and keep service quality ahead of market shifts and client expectations. The role also requires close collaboration with the Creative Director, who owns the company’s brand and creative standards across all divisions.
Service organization leadership
- Oversee and connect all service-delivery divisions, including PR, social media marketing, cross-media advertising, events, brand production, bilingual business facilitation, and creative work, taking over responsibilities currently handled by the CEO.
- Define objectives and KPIs for each division and create scalable team structures, operating workflows, and staffing plans.
- Recruit, coach, review, and retain division leads while building succession plans and strengthening team capability.
- Encourage collaboration across divisions so the company can deliver integrated marketing solutions.
Partnership with creative leadership
- Support and advance the mission of the Creative Director, who reports as a peer executive to the CEO, by helping raise branding and creative standards across all service lines.
- Own decisions around staffing, delivery approach, client satisfaction, and profitability, while honoring the Creative Director’s role in defining creative direction, expression, and brand standards.
- Bring the Creative Director into major pitches, campaigns, and quality reviews early in the process to help elevate the overall brand output.
- Resolve any tension between creative standards and delivery limits such as budget, timing, or client needs directly with the Creative Director, escalating only when necessary.
Service quality and client satisfaction
- Set and maintain quality standards across all projects and service divisions.
- Work closely with business development teams in both the US and Japan to assign teams and resources appropriately for each account and project.
- Track client satisfaction, manage escalations, and lead corrective action to protect and strengthen client relationships.
- Build quality assurance routines, project review processes, and feedback systems across the organization.
Service evolution and innovation
- Keep service offerings current by responding to market trends, new platforms, new technologies including AI, and changing client expectations.
- Compare performance and standards against top North American agency practices and bring in proven improvements.
- Develop new capabilities and integrated cross-division offerings that increase value for clients.
Business management and executive collaboration
- Own the semi-annual gross profit targets set for each service team and be accountable for the overall performance of the services organization.
- Manage division budgets, resource use, and profitability across the services function.
- Report directly to the CEO and contribute to leadership decisions involving strategy, investment, and hiring.
- Serve as a liaison between the Tokyo headquarters and US teams to support smooth cross-border coordination.
Experience and background needed
- Must have managed at least 15 staff members within a North American marketing agency.
- Bring 10 or more years of experience in agency settings that span multiple disciplines such as PR, social media, advertising, events, production, and/or creative work.
- Demonstrate a strong record of improving service quality and client satisfaction at scale.
- Have experience working with sales or business development teams on staffing, resource allocation, and account growth.
- Be comfortable partnering with senior creative leaders such as Creative Directors or CCOs while balancing creative direction with delivery and business outcomes.
- Show strong leadership and people-management ability, including the ability to guide senior division leads.
- Communicate clearly and confidently with clients and executive stakeholders.
- Have experience managing budgets and P&L responsibility.
Preferred background
- Experience leading a larger marketing organization, ideally with several dozen people or more than 30 staff.
- Exposure to the entertainment space, especially anime, gaming, or pop culture, along with knowledge of the North American entertainment market.
- Business-level Japanese, or direct experience working with Japanese clients and cross-border teams.
- Experience managing gross profit or revenue targets across multiple service teams on semi-annual or quarterly budgeting cycles.
- Background in bringing AI and other emerging technologies into agency workflows and service delivery.
- Experience leading organizational change or scaling agency teams.
- Familiarity with Japanese IP licensing processes.
Benefits and work arrangement

- Medical, dental, and vision coverage
- Paid time off, including vacation, sick leave, and public holidays
- Hybrid work arrangement
