Overview

Located in Singapore and reporting directly to the Global Chief Marketing Officer, with a dotted line to the Managing Director for East Asia Pacific (EAP), this senior marketing leadership position spearheads the regional marketing strategy. The role encompasses strategic oversight and execution throughout diverse markets including Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and Korea. The incumbent is responsible for interpreting global brand initiatives into tailored local marketing plans that drive brand equity, consumer engagement, and commercial success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the annual marketing strategy and operational plan for the EAP region, ensuring alignment with the global brand vision while adapting to local market specifics.
  • Define success indicators and establish a performance optimization schedule covering brand health, demand generation, and retail outcomes, with transparent performance reporting mechanisms.
  • Act as the regional voice in global marketing interactions, providing data-driven insights on consumer behavior, competition, and cultural trends to influence campaign content and investments.
  • Manage the regional marketing budget responsibly, balancing brand awareness efforts with demand-driving tactics, while maintaining disciplined oversight of ROI.
  • Coordinate an integrated marketing calendar inclusive of product launches, seasonal campaigns, and brand events, managing cross-market and agency collaborations.
  • Lead and develop a regional team exceeding 25 employees, spread across major hubs like Singapore, Melbourne, and Tokyo, fostering capability building and unified operational processes.
  • Ensure brand uniformity and rapid execution by overseeing the adaptation of global creative assets and commissioning market-specific content where necessary.
  • Optimize the performance and relationship of the agency network comprising media, creative, public relations, and production firms through clear briefing and quality control.
  • Collaborate with Cluster and Global Brand Experience heads to maintain consistent brand representation with enhanced local cultural resonance across markets.
  • Partner closely with eCommerce and omnichannel leadership to synchronize brand moments and trading priorities with digital and social media activations to execute comprehensive funnel strategies.
  • Support retail environment initiatives, including impactful storytelling and local partnerships, aimed at increasing in-store traffic and conversions.
  • Cultivate a consumer-focused and culturally aware team culture, coaching leadership and sustaining high performance and inclusivity.
  • Implement routine operational cadences such as planning, briefing, reviews, and measurement cycles, bolstering expertise in brand, digital, and retail activation realms.
  • Build and maintain influential relationships with stakeholders, including commercial teams, retail, eCommerce, global marketing, agencies, and influencer partners, to expand reach and enhance local impact.

Performance Metrics

  • Achievement of financial targets and key performance indicators for the EAP business.
  • Integration and alignment with eCommerce and omnichannel strategies to meet brand marketing and customer objectives.
  • Enhancement of brand health, cultural relevance, campaign effectiveness, retail traffic and conversion rates, and digital demand contributions.
  • Execution quality and speed in the regional markets.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 15 years of experience in brand strategy and marketing management within leading consumer marketing environments.
  • Extensive leadership experience in East Asia Pacific markets, with deep knowledge of local consumer behaviors and cultural nuances and proven success scaling best practices across diverse regions.
  • Strong background in managing multi-market teams, including leadership of managers, within matrixed organizations and fostering team capabilities.
  • Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and collaborative skills across cross-functional teams.
  • Proven aptitude for designing and tracking strategic marketing plans with innovative and creative approaches.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a capacity for measured risks and managing pressure.
  • Thorough understanding of wholesale and retail operations, encompassing both company-owned and franchise models.
  • Expert knowledge of digital commerce ecosystems and maximizing brand exposure and demand generation through these channels.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory; proficiency in additional Asian languages is an advantage but not required.
