Overview
Our client, a prominent global energy company, is seeking a seasoned professional for the senior position of Head of LNG Shipping HSE and Incident Management. This role involves leadership over the health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) governance, incident readiness, maritime security, crisis management, and resilience operations throughout their vast international liquefied natural gas (LNG) fleet.
Primary Responsibilities
- Steer the formulation and implementation of LNG shipping incident response and emergency management protocols.
- Serve as the central coordinator during maritime incidents, facilitating communications and coordinated response with all relevant internal units and external partners.
- Administer maritime security surveillance and implement risk reduction strategies across the LNG fleet.
- Oversee incident escalation workflows, evaluate severity, and manage communication among stakeholders.
- Organize emergency drills, response exercises, and mobilization simulations to ensure preparedness.
- Contribute to the advancement of business continuity, enterprise risk management, and corporate HSSE programs.
- Lead initiatives geared toward continuous enhancement of shipping HSSE standards and operational resiliency.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Possession of a Class 1 Certificate of Competency (Master Mariner or Chief Engineer) or a degree in Marine Studies, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience in LNG shipping, marine operations, HSSE, maritime security, or the management of incidents.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing complex operational incidents and emergency response operations.
- In-depth knowledge of global maritime risks and security environments within shipping sectors.
- Experience with structured incident response frameworks is highly advantageous.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
- Ability to maintain composure and decisiveness in high-pressure operational conditions.
