Position Overview
This senior leadership legal role is based in the United States within a dynamic, fast-growing technology company environment. The Head of Litigation & Legal Compliance will lead the management of complex litigation, dispute resolution, and legal compliance programs, partnering with cross-functional teams to provide business-centric legal guidance. The role involves overseeing external counsel relationships, enterprise risk management initiatives, and enhancing legal operational efficiency across the global organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver strategic and actionable legal advice related to litigation, dispute resolution, investigations, and compliance matters.
- Support internal stakeholders daily with litigation advice and legal consultation tailored to business needs.
- Design, execute, and maintain legal risk management policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Manage partnerships with external law firms, consultants, and legal service providers.
- Collaborate with technology teams to enhance e-discovery tools, improve legal technology systems, and refine data retention strategies.
- Work alongside leadership teams across departments including sales, product, marketing, finance, IT, information security, HR, and legal to effectively handle disputes and ensure compliance.
- Lead comprehensive compliance programs and conduct internal training initiatives on enterprise risk, anti-corruption, export controls, and regulatory compliance.
- Oversee litigation and compliance budgets ensuring cost-effectiveness, vendor management, and financial predictability.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of 10 years’ combined experience in litigation, dispute management, and legal compliance, encompassing both law firm and in-house corporate settings.
- Possession of a Juris Doctor (J.D.) or equivalent qualification from an accredited law school.
- Current, active license to practice law within the United States.
- Proven track record managing complex legal matters and multidisciplinary projects with shifting priorities.
- Excellent communication skills with the capacity to translate intricate legal information into clear, actionable advice.
- Strong organizational abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and capability to independently prioritize competing deadlines.
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced, collaborative, and constantly evolving corporate environment.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities, relationship-building acumen, and an accountable, positive approach under pressure.
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive salary between $216,000 and $297,000 annually, commensurate with location and experience.
