About the Role
Join one of the leading IT firms specializing in government projects in Ahmedabad as the Head of IoT. This leadership role demands spearheading the IoT division, innovatively advancing product development, and managing P&L while crafting and executing strategic growth plans for IoT solutions and smart city initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Formulate and implement a comprehensive IoT strategy and roadmap aligned with organizational goals.
- Develop and expand IoT proficiency across engineering, consulting, and delivery teams.
- Lead IoT Centers of Excellence, pioneering new technological and business opportunities.
- Drive digital transformation across enterprise clients through innovative IoT implementations.
- Architect end-to-end IoT solutions incorporating sensors, embedded systems, gateways, edge computing, cloud, analytics, and AI/ML technologies.
- Ensure scalability, security, and reliability of IoT deployments.
- Collaborate with sales teams to support pre-sales activities, proposal development, and CXO-level presentations.
- Build strategic alliances with technology partners and vendors.
- Oversee large IoT projects ensuring delivery timelines, quality standards, budget adherence, and client satisfaction.
- Manage and mentor globally distributed engineering teams, setting technical standards and fostering an innovation-driven culture.
- Hands-on expertise in IoT platforms like AWS IoT Core, Azure IoT Hub, Google Cloud IoT, and related edge computing and digital twin technologies.
- Ensure implementation of IoT security practices including device authentication, secure communications, OTA updates, identity management, and compliance with industry norms.
Required Skills and Technology Experience
- Deep knowledge of IoT Platforms: AWS IoT Core, Azure IoT Hub, PTC ThingWorx, Siemens MindSphere, Bosch IoT Suite, IBM Watson IoT, Eclipse IoT.
- Cloud computing expertise: AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Proficient in multiple programming languages: Python, Java, C++, Node.js, and Go.
- Embedded systems and hardware experience with Raspberry Pi, Arduino, ESP32, ARM architecture, STM32.
- Networking protocols such as MQTT, CoAP, OPC-UA, Modbus, Zigbee, BLE, LoRaWAN, NB-IoT, and 5G connectivity.
- Database technologies including PostgreSQL, MongoDB, InfluxDB, TimescaleDB.
- DevOps tools: Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Terraform, Ansible.
- Analytics and monitoring platforms like Power BI, Grafana, Kibana, and Splunk.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering or a related technical field; MBA is a plus.
- Cloud certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Architect, Google Cloud Professional are preferred.
- Certifications in IoT, along with PMP, SAFe, or Agile methodologies are advantageous.
- Minimum of 12 years in IT services or product engineering with at least 8 years focusing on IoT solution architecture or delivery.
- Proven record in managing enterprise-level IoT programs and leading global engineering teams.
- Excellent client-facing, stakeholder management, and business development capabilities.
Industry Experience
- Exposure to verticals including Manufacturing, Automotive, Industrial Automation, Energy & Utilities, Smart Cities, Healthcare, Retail, Logistics & Supply Chain, and Oil & Gas.
