Job description

About the Role

This leadership position is based at Satair and involves management of the inbound warehouse operations aimed at achieving operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and stringent quality and safety standards. The Head of Inbound leads a team of receiving inspectors and focuses on their skill development and alignment with company goals. The role ensures accurate, efficient, and safe handling of all incoming goods from receipt through inventory management, maintaining product integrity and a hazard-free workplace.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and continuously improve the entire inbound process, acting as the expert to establish best practices in quality, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Manage the daily and weekly operational plans for the inbound department, establishing clear, data-based production targets, staffing strategies, and workflow priorities.
  • Set performance benchmarks, conduct regular coaching, and handle accountability for results while maintaining training and certification standards.
  • Analyze and report inbound key performance indicators, providing detailed insights and improvement recommendations to the Head of Warehouse Operations.
  • Serve as the main operational contact between inbound and other warehouse functions like inventory, outbound, and shipping to ensure smooth coordination.
  • Lead a performance-driven team culture by managing all aspects of recruitment, onboarding, training, performance evaluation, and career development within the inbound group.
  • Align workforce scheduling and capabilities with operational demands and volume fluctuations to meet targets consistently.
  • Identify and nurture talent, address skill shortages, and prepare the team for evolving business requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environment policies, and aviation regulations, leading risk management and audit activities to maintain operational stability.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives using methods such as Kaizen and 5S to optimize workflows, remove bottlenecks, and enhance processes.
  • Promote employee engagement by implementing recognition and feedback systems that drive a culture of accountability and high standards.
  • Support and lead regional projects to advance the business model and back up other warehouse leaders when needed.

Candidate Profile

  • Possess a Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Have at least three years in a leadership or people management role with a track record in warehouse operations, manufacturing, or order fulfillment.
  • Demonstrate deep knowledge in material management, warehouse, and transportation operations.
  • Prefer candidates with aerospace aftermarket experience and familiarity with customer service and after-sales in aviation.
  • Strong expertise in IT systems, ideally SAP R/3 and other warehouse management and quality systems within an aviation context.
  • Excellent stakeholder and relationship management capabilities with the ability to drive change and resolve challenges effectively.
  • Customer-centric communication, negotiation skills, and teamwork abilities with a strategic mindset and critical thinking capacity.
  • Resilient, proactive, and capable of thriving in dynamic environments under pressure while maintaining organizational and time management excellence.
