Role overview
Dugar Finance & Investments Ltd is looking for a senior HR leader to head the people function for its NBFC business in Chennai. This position reports directly to the CEO or Managing Director and will play a key role in shaping HR strategy, strengthening talent processes, supporting compliance, and enabling organizational growth in a regulated financial-services environment.
Core responsibilities
- Build and execute HR plans that support overall business priorities and growth objectives.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on workforce, policy, and organizational matters.
- Help create and sustain a high-performance culture across the company.
- Own the recruitment approach for mission-critical positions and guide workforce planning for expansion.
- Improve employer visibility to attract strong talent from the financial services sector.
- Set up and refine performance management systems, including KPIs and KRAs.
- Support leadership development, succession planning, engagement, and retention initiatives.
- Design compensation and benefits structures that are competitive for the NBFC market.
- Supervise payroll, incentives, ESOPs, and benefits administration.
- Ensure pay practices remain fair internally and competitive externally.
- Maintain compliance with labour laws and applicable regulatory requirements, including RBI-related guidelines where relevant.
- Handle employee relations, grievances, and disciplinary actions in a structured manner.
- Keep HR policies updated to reflect legal and regulatory standards.
- Oversee HR operations such as HRMS, payroll, and people analytics.
- Promote HR automation and other digital transformation initiatives.
- Track and present HR metrics and dashboards to support decision-making.
Requirements
- MBA or PGDM in Human Resources, or a closely related discipline.
- 5 to 10 years of experience in HR.
- Background in NBFC, banking, or financial services is strongly preferred.
- Sound understanding of labour legislation and regulatory frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to support scaling businesses and change management.
- Strong strategic thinking and business understanding.
- Proven leadership and stakeholder management capability.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills.
- High integrity and professionalism.
- Comfort working with data and analytics for decision-making.
Preferred profile
Candidates who have worked in fast-growing or transformation-heavy environments, especially within compliance-driven industries, and who bring a useful network in the financial services talent market will be an added advantage.
