Job description
Overview
We are looking for an experienced HR and compliance leader to take charge of people operations, statutory adherence, and factory-level industrial relations for a textile or garment environment in Daman & Diu.
The role calls for someone with over 10 years of hands-on HR experience in the textile or garment sector, capable of balancing policy, employee relations, compliance, and operational discipline across multiple factories.
Key Responsibilities
This position combines strategic HR leadership with day-to-day compliance oversight. The selected professional will guide recruitment, onboarding, employee support, disciplinary processes, and end-to-end exit administration while ensuring all actions remain aligned with company policy and legal requirements.
- Create, update, and roll out HR policies and procedures that support business goals.
- Manage hiring, selection, induction, and onboarding of new employees.
- Support employees on matters related to relations at work, compensation, benefits, and performance management.
- Ensure adherence to local and international labour laws, regulations, and standards.
- Oversee health and safety procedures to maintain a secure working environment.
- Process resignations, conduct exit interviews, complete clearance, deactivate records, and arrange final settlements.
- Address disciplinary cases, legal matters, and industrial relations issues across all factories.
- Authorize administrative and disciplinary letters as required.
- Maintain PF and ESIC compliance for factory employees.
Compliance and Audit Oversight
- Implement and monitor Accord/Alliance standards related to fire, electrical, and structural safety.
- Coordinate, maintain, and respond to social, environmental, and chemical audits from buyers and certification or membership bodies, including HIGGS, OKEOTEX, GOTS, INDITEX, H&M, and ACCORD.
- Strengthen internal compliance systems using weekly, monthly, and annual statistical reports and tracking tools.
- Advise management on important legal updates, rulings, and codes of conduct.
- Help shape, maintain, and review company rules and policies in line with applicable employment laws.
- Monitor shop-floor operations for compliance gaps and corrective action needs.
- Promote employee awareness and motivation around personal safety practices.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should bring deep experience in HR and compliance within the textile or garment industry, strong working knowledge of statutory and labour compliance, and the confidence to manage factory-level issues independently.
