Job description

Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Head of Hospitality to oversee all catering and hospitality operations at a prestigious private family estate in County Kerry, Ireland. This exclusive estate features extensive gardens rivaling five-star resorts and grazing land, with the family residing on-site intermittently throughout the year. Your role will ensure that the estate's hospitality standards remain impeccable at all times.

Core Duties

  • Lead and supervise the catering and hospitality team, including chefs, butlers, and household staff.
  • Manage a serious kitchen environment, with experience preferably from Michelin-starred restaurants, luxury resorts, or elite private households.
  • Curate menus based on seasonal home-grown produce in collaboration with the head gardener and land manager.
  • Source premium ingredients, wines, and spirits directly from top producers rather than standard suppliers.
  • Handle complex dietary requirements seamlessly and execute formal private dining events flawlessly.
  • Recruit, train, and develop a highly capable hospitality team to ensure smooth operations without constant supervision.
  • Uphold strict confidentiality and discretion regarding family, guest, and estate activities.
  • Be prepared to be on-site during family visits and maintain flexible scheduling throughout the rest of the year.
  • Travel across Europe as needed to source the finest products.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • At least five years in a senior catering or food and beverage leadership position at Michelin-quality kitchens, five-star resorts, or private household settings.
  • Strong, practical knowledge of wines coupled with the confidence to source top-tier selections.
  • Proven success managing specialized dietary needs with sensitivity and precision.
  • Demonstrable experience leading and nurturing hospitality teams.
  • Expertise in seasonal cooking using fresh, estate-grown produce rather than relying solely on external suppliers.
  • Discretion and trustworthiness embedded as a natural professional ethic.
  • Availability to work on-site during family visits with ability to adapt schedule outside of these periods.

Additional Information

This role offers a unique opportunity to join a rare private estate with a compensation package reflective of your skill and experience. Candidates should have a calibre fitting for a position of this exclusivity. Contact details for application will be provided confidentially.
