About the Role

A prominent biotechnology company is searching for a Head of Growth and Innovation to spearhead and propel commercial innovation initiatives within various therapeutic domains. This pivotal leadership position is dedicated to uncovering innovative ideas, emerging technologies, external partnerships, and novel capabilities that offer substantial value to the organization, customers, and patient populations. The role operates within an agile environment and demands a leader adept at managing uncertainty, fostering trust, aligning diverse stakeholders, and influencing decision-making across a multifaceted organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gain a thorough understanding of the company's commercial strategy, growth factors, therapeutic focus areas, and market environment to pinpoint promising growth prospects.
  • Design and execute a robust innovation framework that aligns with the corporate mission, core values, and strategic business aims.
  • Work collaboratively with teams such as marketing, medical affairs, operations, legal, compliance, and leadership to champion new concepts, capabilities, technologies, and external partnerships.
  • Lead evaluation, piloting, scaling, and deployment of innovative technologies and capabilities across divisions and functional teams.
  • Create and maintain measurement systems to assess impact, monitor outcomes, and determine return on investment.
  • Regularly monitor the external healthcare landscape, including tech companies, novel care models, disruptors, startups, and potential collaborators, to uncover opportunities that foster growth or overcome challenges in therapeutic segments.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Completion of a bachelor's degree is mandatory; an MBA is highly preferred.
  • At least 12 years of advancing experience in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and/or healthcare consulting sectors.
  • Diverse experience across commercial healthcare areas such as marketing, market access, strategic planning, business development, or consulting.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of healthcare ecosystems and market dynamics.
  • Demonstrated capacity to lead amidst change, ambiguity, and complex cross-functional environments.
  • Proven record of managing large-scale, innovative projects involving both internal teams and external partners.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% as part of the role.
