The organisation is expanding a pipeline of energy projects that contribute to the shift toward a lower-carbon power system, and this position will play a key part in both finance operations and project development work.
What you will do
- Shape and drive the funding approach, while managing relationships with investors, lenders, and strategic partners. You will also help structure and negotiate development joint development agreements and joint ventures.
- Build, review, and challenge financial models and valuations for development projects, and provide financial input into commercial negotiations and route-to-market decisions.
- Examine JV management accounts and shareholder reporting critically, and work with majority shareholders and asset managers on assumptions, expenditure, and performance.
- Take responsibility for SPV and group-level financial management, including intercompany arrangements such as equity, shareholder loans, and fees, while keeping cash and liquidity visibility across both SPVs and the wider group.
- Oversee accounting, audit, tax, and statutory reporting, maintain strong controls and governance, and prepare reporting for the board and investors.
- Lead liquidity forecasting for the group and SPVs, manage budgeting and reforecasting, supervise development spend and capital allocation, and support decisions on project prioritisation.
- Work closely with the CEO on business strategy and expansion, contributing to portfolio mix, exit timing, and partnership choices.
What we are looking for
- Previous experience in energy, or a similar sector, with exposure to project development structuring and finance being a strong advantage.
- A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a closely related discipline.
- A chartered, certified, or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
- Hands-on experience in deals or transactions.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders.
