Job description

Overview

A specialist and expanding healthcare consulting business is looking to appoint a Head of Finance in Dublin. The position sits at the center of the finance operation across several legal entities and countries, blending strategic leadership with a strong hands-on remit. It will play a key role in protecting the accuracy, quality, and scalability of financial data, while also helping the executive team make better decisions and improving overall business performance.

The role partners closely with the CEO and senior leaders to support growth, maintain cash discipline, and strengthen financial control. As the company continues to scale, this position is expected to progress toward broader Group CFO responsibilities.

Finance management

  • Own the implementation and day-to-day use of the SAP Business One finance system.
  • Oversee and improve finance operations across all entities and regions.
  • Serve as a trusted commercial partner to senior leaders across the business.
  • Drive financial planning, forecasting, and initiatives that support growth.
  • Provide direct leadership to accounts receivable, accounts payable, and outsourced finance providers.
  • Maintain disciplined cash-cycle management, solid controls, and high service standards.

Management accounts and compliance

  • Deliver timely and accurate monthly management accounts for multiple entities and countries.
  • Ensure consolidation is correct and aligned with group reporting expectations.
  • Strengthen financial controls, procedures, and audit preparedness.
  • Oversee the annual audit process and related reporting.
  • Keep operations compliant across all countries in which the group operates.

Cash, treasury, and budgeting

  • Manage cash flow, treasury, foreign exchange exposure, and working capital.
  • Support cost analysis and maintain strong cost control across the business.
  • Lead the budgeting process across entities and departments.
  • Work with budget owners to prepare and finalize budgets.
  • Track budgets continuously and provide regular reporting against them.

Reporting and leadership

  • Prepare monthly financial updates and insights for the CEO and senior leadership as needed.
  • Present quarterly financial reporting and analysis to the board of directors.
  • Turn financial information into practical recommendations for action.
  • Lead finance teams and outsourced partners in a hands-on way.
  • Build capability within the team and drive high performance.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate will be a qualified finance professional with deep hands-on experience in SAP Business One and a strong background in multi-entity or international finance operations. The role suits someone comfortable balancing strategic input with day-to-day operational ownership in a growing SME or similar environment.

Interest in the role is being handled directly through the hiring contact at the company.

Experience and qualification expectations

  • Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, ACA, or CIMA is required.
  • Extensive practical experience using SAP Business One is essential.
  • At least 8 years of progressive finance experience, including management exposure in multi-entity or international settings, is expected.
  • Background in an SME or growth-stage organization with direct operational responsibility is highly desirable.
  • Proven ownership of end-to-end finance operations, including receivables, payables, and cash flow, is needed.
