Job description

About Treeswift

Treeswift addresses critical challenges in the energy sector, enabling companies to modernize field operations amidst rising threats, affordability issues, and surging power demand. Our technology acts as an advanced support system for field engineers and vegetation teams, enhancing their productivity tenfold through a blend of hardware, LiDAR sensors, cameras, AI, and bespoke software. Since launching our pilot in June 2024, we've partnered with three of the top five US utilities, delivering solutions that lower wildfire and outage risks, streamline new construction, and speed up storm recovery.

Our team merges top expertise in robotics from leading institutes with enterprise software experience, backed by investors like Inspired Capital. Based in Manhattan with offices in San Francisco and Philadelphia, we're accelerating growth and inviting ambitious professionals to join our mission to redefine field work.

Position Summary

We seek our inaugural Head of Finance during a critical growth phase. This senior role transcends basic financial planning and analysis to strategically shape company scaling—from pricing strategies and capital management to forecasting and investor relations. You'll build and refine financial models that guide key business decisions in a dynamic, evolving setting, reporting directly to the Co-Founder & CEO.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with the CEO and leadership to influence company strategy and financial decision-making across multiple departments including GTM, Engineering, and Operations.
  • Lead fundraising support, including financial narrative, diligence preparation, and capital strategy development.
  • Develop and maintain an extensive long-term financial model reflecting enterprise deals, hardware costs, growth factors, and monetization strategies.
  • Design pricing and monetization frameworks based on customer value and our business model.
  • Guide strategic planning, scenario analysis, and resource allocation to sustain growth.
  • Establish financial infrastructure and operational discipline to support growth through successive maturity phases.
  • Define and track critical financial and operational metrics to enhance company performance visibility and executive insights.
  • Partner with teams to improve business profitability through gross margin, operational efficiency, customer metrics, and retention improvements.
  • Create scalable forecasting, planning, and reporting processes for growing operational complexity.
  • Strengthen financial rigor in collaboration with cross-functional leaders.

Candidate Profile

  • 10 to 15+ years of experience in strategic finance, FP&A, corporate finance, or investment roles, with progressive leadership influence.
  • Proven experience scaling venture-backed enterprise technology firms from early growth rounds through later stages, such as Series A to IPO or acquisition.
  • Capability to influence senior executives’ strategic decisions rather than just reporting metrics.
  • In-depth knowledge of enterprise business models, including complex pricing, long-term contracts, and value-based frameworks.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments shaping company direction through finance.
  • Strong financial modeling, analytical skills, and ability to tie financial findings to broader strategic goals.
  • Experience in fundraising, investor relations, board communications, and strategic finance leadership.
  • Executive communication skills with ability to persuade diverse stakeholders.
  • Must reside in or be able to commute regularly to New York City.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees and eligible dependents.
  • Life insurance and both short- and long-term disability coverage.
  • Equity participation to align personal and company growth.
  • Generous fully paid parental leave of 16 weeks.
  • Flexible unlimited paid time off policy.
  • 401(k) retirement plan.
  • Complimentary OneMedical membership.
  • Commuter benefits for daily travel support.
  • Regularly provided office snacks and twice-weekly team lunches to foster community.

Core Values

  • Customer-first mindset focused on exceptional outcomes.
  • A culture of curiosity and willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Ownership mentality encouraging proactive improvements from all team members.

Compensation

The base salary is estimated to be between $225,000 and $275,000 annually, subject to candidate qualifications and location, excluding bonuses and incentives. This range is in compliance with local New York City laws and applicable to NYC roles; candidates outside NYC may receive different compensation.

We are an equal opportunity employer committed to nondiscriminatory hiring practices, valuing diversity across age, race, gender, disability, and more. We offer accommodations during recruitment to support all applicants.
