Job description

About the Company

This privately owned property investment group is focused on strengthening its financial foundations while improving the way data supports strategic growth. The head office team is small, sharp, and high performing, with a culture that values capability, teamwork, adaptability, and a practical leadership style. This finance leadership position is central to a fast-paced development setting and is suited to someone who is ready to get involved directly and help shape the company’s next phase of growth.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the CEO, this position owns finance across the group from end to end. It covers financial reporting, statutory accounting, financial controls, and the daily running of the finance function, while also strengthening reporting and analytics so leadership can make confident commercial decisions based on clear insight.

Working closely with the CEO, you will play an important role in supporting growth. The role provides significant exposure and the chance to influence strategy, performance, and long-term value creation, while working closely with senior leaders across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all financial accounting work, bringing strong capability across financial and management accounting.
  • Work alongside the CEO and Board on financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning.
  • Prepare reliable monthly management accounts, board packs, and consolidated annual financial statements.
  • Maintain the accuracy of profit and loss statements, balance sheet balances, and core reconciliations.
  • Manage financial risk across accounting, tax, and operational finance activities.
  • Provide concise, high-quality analysis and insight to guide strategic and commercial choices.
  • Build strong financial models and evaluation tools to support initiatives and investment decisions.

About You

You are a qualified accountant with broad experience in financial management, reporting, and analysis. You enjoy working close to the business, taking responsibility, and making a real difference. You are comfortable being hands-on, pairing solid technical knowledge with good judgement and the ability to communicate clearly and influence stakeholders.

You place a high value on accuracy and integrity, are happy to work through detail, and still keep the bigger commercial picture in view. You bring strong analytical ability and can turn financial data into practical business insight. Your calm, considered approach to solving problems and your collaborative nature help you build trust throughout the organisation. This role will suit someone who builds credibility through delivery and is keen to expand their scope and responsibility as the business continues to evolve.
