Plusvital Group is an Irish-owned nutraceutical company focused on products that support equine health and performance. The business sells into more than 50 countries and is currently investing heavily in a new 18,000 sq. ft. facility that will bring together manufacturing, research and development, warehousing, and corporate headquarters functions. The company is pursuing strong growth through innovation, wider international reach, and improved operational performance.
Role Overview
The Head of Finance will take ownership of the organisation’s financial direction and overall finance performance. This senior leader will work closely with the CEO and the Board, providing insight and guidance to support decision-making. The role covers budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and financial reporting, while also helping to improve profitability, commercial results, and operational efficiency. It will also involve backing growth plans, capital investment activity, and expansion into new markets. In addition, the position carries responsibility for governance, compliance, risk oversight, and financial control. The successful person will collaborate with teams across operations, manufacturing, supply chain, and commercial functions to support sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage financial plans, budgets, and forecasts.
- Prepare monthly management accounts and wider financial reports.
- Oversee cash flow, working capital, and funding requirements.
- Analyse commercial performance and identify opportunities to improve results.
- Create and monitor key performance indicators to track business progress.
- Support applications for grant funding and manage related processes.
- Maintain relationships with auditors, banks, and external professional advisers.
- Contribute to strategic initiatives, including acquisitions, partnerships, and facility expansion projects.
Candidate Profile
This role requires a qualified accountant with recognised professional credentials such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or an equivalent qualification. Applicants should have prior experience in a senior finance leadership position, along with a strong commercial outlook and strategic approach. Experience in financial planning, reporting, and cash flow control is essential. Strong communication and leadership abilities are also important. Background in manufacturing, nutraceuticals, food, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, or similar sectors would be beneficial. Experience using ERP systems, working with international trade, and supporting business growth projects would be an advantage.
