Role overview

This is a senior finance leadership opportunity for someone based in Ireland who is ready to create and scale the finance function for a fast-growing consumer digital business. You will be the first internal finance lead, setting up the structure, controls, and strategic financial direction needed to support growth. In addition to owning compliance and reporting, you will help turn finance into a proactive partner to the business, supporting decisions on expansion, profitability, and investment. The role blends day-to-day financial management with long-range planning and is suited to a hands-on leader who can build systems from scratch in a remote-first environment.

Accountabilities

  • Take charge of forecasting, financial modeling, and strategic planning, including growth assumptions, scenario analysis, headcount planning, and cash flow management.
  • Own the budgeting cycle and make sure senior leadership has clear insight into financial trade-offs, risk areas, and the factors driving performance.
  • Keep financial models, reporting packs, and board-ready materials up to date so they can support fundraising and strategic conversations.
  • Manage inventory accounting, cost discipline, and reconciliations across revenue, expenses, cash movement, and cost of goods sold.
  • Improve visibility into profitability, margins, and unit economics while maintaining accurate and timely reporting.
  • Set up strong financial controls, audit-ready workflows, and dependable month-end close routines in line with accounting standards.
  • Work closely with functional leaders to align budgets, track spend, and strengthen financial decision-making across the organization.
  • Create backup and scenario-planning approaches, including Plan B and Plan C frameworks, to help the business stay resilient in changing market conditions.
  • Act as the central financial source of truth by consolidating and standardizing data and reporting systems.

Requirements

  • At least 5-10+ years of experience in finance, FP&A, accounting, or operational finance, ideally in startup or high-growth settings.
  • Deep capability in modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and strategic financial planning.
  • Demonstrated experience handling inventory-intensive or product-based financial operations.
  • Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills, along with experience using ERP or accounting platforms such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, or Sage.
  • Strong accounting background; CPA or an equivalent certification is preferred.
  • Ability to contribute both as a strategic advisor and as a hands-on operator.
  • A systems-oriented mindset with a focus on improving processes, not just producing outputs.
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to question assumptions and influence executive decisions constructively.
  • Experience in e-commerce, collectibles, or similarly inventory-driven businesses is an advantage.
