About the Role

Join a flourishing mining organisation as the Head of Finance & Commercial, reporting directly to the CFO. This pivotal leadership position involves spearheading financial strategy, commercial insight, and strategic decision-making to boost the organisation's performance and growth trajectory. You will oversee budgeting, forecasting, treasury management, financial modelling, and commercial analysis, collaborating closely with both operational and executive teams.

Additionally, this role includes leading the finance systems strategy, owning ERP responsibilities, enhancing reporting capabilities, and driving continuous improvements through digital transformation and automation.

Responsibilities

• Lead group budgeting, forecasting, treasury, and financial planning processes ensuring alignment with strategic and operational goals.
• Collaborate with executive and operational leaders to provide commercial analysis, financial modelling, and performance insights for operations, capital projects, and strategic initiatives.
• Manage finance systems, including ERP ownership, and lead digital transformation, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure robust governance, financial controls, and reporting frameworks maintaining compliance with audit, risk, and corporate regulations.
• Lead and develop the finance team while delivering trusted commercial and financial leadership to senior executives.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a commercially astute finance leader with a hands-on approach and strong strategic mindset, capable of influencing business outcomes through insightful financial guidance. You should be adept at collaborating with operations and executive teams and possess strong commercial judgment alongside technical financial expertise.

Requirements

• CA or CPA certification with extensive senior leadership experience in finance, preferably within the mining or resources sector.
• Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, treasury, financial modelling, business case development, and commercial decision support.
• Proven capability in partnering with executive and operational stakeholders to influence decisions and convert financial data into actionable commercial strategies.
• Advanced experience in finance systems, including ERP ownership or finance transformation projects, with strong reporting and business intelligence skills.
• Effective leadership skills demonstrated by building and nurturing high-performing finance teams and fostering continuous improvement.
