Role Overview

We seek a seasoned and strategic Head of Estates to oversee and grow our national property portfolio. This key leadership position will shape our estate to ensure environments are secure, sustainable, compliant, and suited to the needs of those we support and our colleagues.

Reporting to the Director of Estates, Sustainability and Social Value, you will lead the Estates and Facilities function, promoting operational excellence and setting long-term strategies. This role requires a hybrid working model with duties based at our Head Office in Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne, alongside travel to UK service locations.

Important: A full UK driving license and personal car access are mandatory. This position is not eligible for UK visa sponsorship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct both strategic and day-to-day management of Everyturn's national estate portfolio.
  • Advise senior leadership on estate strategies, investments, and risk management.
  • Guarantee the safety, compliance, and suitability of all properties.
  • Manage estate budgets, financial planning, and investment programs.
  • Supervise capital projects, refurbishments, and property development initiatives.
  • Maintain effective partnerships with landlords, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory agencies.
  • Support organizational expansion through property acquisitions and strategic estate planning.
  • Lead sustainability projects aligned with long-term environmental objectives.
  • Guide and develop a high-performing Estates and Facilities team.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant Estates discipline.
  • Membership in the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or an equivalent professional body.
  • Possession of a full UK driving license.
  • Proven senior-level experience in estates, property, or facilities management.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Net Zero goals and sustainability principles.
  • Strong leadership capabilities to motivate and grow teams.
  • Experience handling budgets, contracts, capital projects, and managing property portfolios.
  • Excellent skills in stakeholder engagement and communication.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of compliance standards, health and safety, and relevant legislation.
  • Experience collaborating with external partners, contractors, and professional advisors.
  • A strategic thinker able to balance long-term planning with operational execution.
  • Dedication to ongoing improvement, sustainability, and superior service quality.
