Job description

About Blinq

Blinq is an AI-powered contacts app designed for people who meet people. The company’s goal is to help relationships create more opportunity by making it easier to capture, recall, and act on important connections.

Originally launched as a leading digital business card product, Blinq is now used by 4 million professionals and is adopted across 93% of the Fortune 500. The company has raised more than $45 million from investors including Blackbird, Square Peg, HubSpot Ventures, and Touring Capital.

Why Join Blinq

  • You’ll be joining an AI-native business at a pivotal stage: established enough to have momentum, customers, and resources, yet still early enough that your work will shape its future direction.
  • You’ll work alongside people who are highly ambitious and strongly committed to producing exceptional work.
  • The company is building a globally ambitious product from Australia, with teams across Sydney, Melbourne, San Francisco, and New York.
  • The work model is intentional and in person: three days each week in the office and two days flexible.

How We Work

  • The team approaches problems with optimism and starts by focusing on what is possible before considering limitations.
  • Only top performers are hired and developed.
  • Attention to detail and strong craft matter deeply in how the company builds products.
  • People are expected to speak honestly, even when the truth is uncomfortable, and to pursue contrarian but correct ideas when warranted.
  • The team values doing more with less through thoughtful frugality and simplicity.
  • Everyone is expected to do the best work of their career.

Engineering at Blinq

The engineering team is central to Blinq’s growth. It builds products and systems that make identity sharing immediate and human, with a focus on meaningful business impact through every release, experiment, and line of code.

This position is a senior leadership role responsible for scaling engineering across web and mobile and for shaping the company’s next platform direction around an agentic workforce.

You will work closely with the Founder to define and deliver a deeply technical, platform-first strategy that speeds up product iteration, embeds AI into the development workflow, and improves engineering velocity and quality in a meaningful way.

The role remains hands-on. You will stay connected to code, architecture, and system design, while setting a strong technical standard for scalability, rigor, and product taste.

Role and Impact

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing web and mobile engineering team, while building a culture of accountability, craftsmanship, and technical excellence.
  • Set and execute the platform strategy so that systems remain scalable, reliable, and optimized for speed.
  • Champion an agentic engineering approach by introducing AI tools and workflows that expand developer leverage.
  • Remain close to implementation by reviewing architecture, working through complex technical problems, and shaping important design decisions.
  • Collaborate with the CEO/Founder on long-term technical direction and alignment with broader company strategy.
  • Own delivery from idea to production, with strong focus on velocity, quality, and operational reliability.
  • Shape team design and hiring so the organization can attract exceptional talent while preserving high standards.
  • Create processes and operating systems that support rapid iteration without weakening engineering quality.

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience scaling a high-performing engineering organization of around 35 engineers, including leadership over managers and senior individual contributors.
  • A strong technical foundation with the ability to contribute meaningfully at the code, architecture, and systems level.
  • Proven experience defining and delivering platform and technical strategy in a fast-growing product environment.
  • Strong interest in, and conviction about, AI and agent-based workflows and their impact on engineering teams.
  • Good product judgement and a tendency to build experiences that users genuinely enjoy.
  • Comfort working in a high-ownership, fast-moving startup environment.
  • Strong coaching ability and a track record of helping others improve and raise their standards.

What You’ll Get

  • Equity and meaningful ownership in the company.
  • A competitive salary with a clear path for growth as the business expands.
  • 20 days of annual leave, plus a flexible approach for additional life needs.
  • Frequent team activities such as lunches, padel, games nights, and Barry’s sessions.
  • Regular catered lunch at some offices and access to an always-stocked snack bar.

Additional Information

The company may use AI tools to assist parts of the hiring process, including application review, resume analysis, and response assessment. These tools support the recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are made by people.
