Engineering at Blinq

The engineering organization powers the company’s growth. The team builds products that make sharing identity and context fast, human, and useful. This role is for someone who enjoys solving high-impact, technically complex problems with a close-knit group of engineers.

Role overview

As Head of Engineering, you will lead and scale the Web and Mobile engineering teams while helping shape the next version of the platform around an agentic workforce. The engineering group is about 35 people, and this role extends beyond standard leadership: you will help define how people and intelligent systems build, ship, and run software at Blinq. You will work closely with the Founder on a technical strategy that is platform-led, AI-enabled, and focused on increasing delivery speed and quality.

This is a hands-on leadership position. You are expected to remain close to the codebase, architecture decisions, and systems design while setting a high technical standard for the whole team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and expand a strong Web and Mobile engineering team while fostering ownership, craftsmanship, and technical excellence.
• Set and deliver the platform strategy so the company’s systems are fast, resilient, and built to scale.
• Champion an agentic engineering approach by introducing AI tools and workflows that improve developer productivity.
• Stay technically engaged by reviewing architecture, solving difficult engineering problems, and guiding important implementation choices.
• Work with the Founder/CEO to define long-term technical direction and keep engineering aligned with business goals.
• Own execution across the full engineering lifecycle, from idea generation through production release, with a focus on speed, quality, and reliability.
• Shape the team structure and hire outstanding talent while preserving a strong performance culture.
• Create scalable systems and operating practices that allow rapid iteration without lowering engineering standards.

What you should bring

• Experience leading and scaling a high-performing engineering organization of around 35 people, including managers and senior individual contributors.
• A strong technical foundation with the ability to contribute at the code, architecture, and system design level.
• A track record of building and executing platform and technical strategies for fast-growing products.
• Strong interest in AI and agentic workflows, with clear views on how they can change engineering operations.
• Product intuition and a strong bias toward building experiences that users genuinely enjoy.
• Comfort working in a fast-moving startup environment where ownership is high and priorities evolve quickly.
• Excellent coaching and talent development skills, with the ability to raise the standard of the people around you.
