Overview
The Head of US and Canada Markets is responsible for the comprehensive oversight and results of the US e-commerce business, focusing on driving revenue growth, improving conversion rates, and increasing profitability. This is a senior role combining independent decision-making with leadership of a dedicated team in New York. Acting as the key senior e-commerce representative in the US, the role bridges market insights with actionable strategies aligned to broader Western e-commerce objectives.
Scope and Leadership
- Complete accountability for performance of the US e-commerce market.
- Authority for local P&L decisions within predefined guidelines.
- Daily supervision and growth of the New York-based team of five.
- Main liaison between US operations and Western e-commerce leadership.
Core Responsibilities
Commercial Performance:
- Manage regular trading reviews—weekly, monthly, and seasonal—with clear, actionable insights highlighting successes and areas for improvement.
- Conduct end-to-end business analysis including site traffic, conversion rates, average order value, margins, returns, and customer behaviors.
- Proactively identify opportunities and risks, coordinating cross-functional actions to address them.
- Oversee revenue forecasting for the US region, ensuring integration with global planning cycles.
Customer and Digital Experience:
- Design and implement the CRM strategy to drive customer acquisition, retention, and lifecycle management in the US.
- Lead Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) efforts to enhance performance across the customer journey funnel.
- Ensure the digital user experience aligns with both brand identity and commercial objectives specific to the US market.
Team Management:
- Guide and develop a diverse team including business development, community management, merchandising, and logistics specialists.
- Foster a team culture centered on accountability and continuous learning.
- Coordinate cross-departmental efforts to align community, merchandising, and logistics towards unified commercial goals.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Deliver consistent, organized performance reports to the General Manager and E-commerce Director.
- Identify challenges early and propose practical solutions proactively.
- Collaborate with global teams such as marketing, product, and finance to integrate the US business perspective.
Professional Experience
- Demonstrated end-to-end ownership of e-commerce P&L management.
- Strong commercial insight with a keen sense for prioritizing business opportunities.
- Proven leadership skills with experience mentoring junior team members.
- Excellent communicative ability to distill complex data into clear, strategic narratives accompanied by decisive action steps.
- Currently residing in or willing to relocate to New York.
- Preferred background in fashion, lifestyle, or consumer retail sectors, though not mandatory.
Functional Expertise
- Deep understanding of e-commerce performance drivers including traffic, conversion, and customer lifetime value.
- Experience in commercial planning, pricing strategies, and optimizing business outcomes.
- Ability to translate strategic business plans into executable operational tactics.
