About the Role

Interior Goods Direct Limited is a prominent multi-brand ecommerce group in the home interiors sector, generating approximately A360 million in annual revenue. Following a successful management buyout in 2024, the company aims to expand aggressively. To support this growth, they seek an experienced and commercially focused Head of Ecommerce to lead their marketing and digital teams. This leadership position encompasses ecommerce trading, customer acquisition, CRM, conversion rate optimisation (CRO), and overall digital performance enhancement. The role offers significant influence over the Group's future development and inclusion in the Senior Leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Report directly to the Commercial Director and actively participate as a Senior Executive team member to help shape business strategy.
  • Oversee trading results of the Group's main ecommerce brands and ensure revenue and profit margin targets are met.
  • Create promotional and trading schedules and drive improvements in conversion rates, average order value, and customer lifetime value.
  • Identify new growth avenues and commercial initiatives while supporting optimisation across the Group's ecommerce portfolio.
  • Lead the customer acquisition strategy utilizing Paid Search, Paid Social, SEO, and CRM channels.
  • Enhance media spend efficiency and marketing effectiveness across all performance-driven channels in partnership with internal teams and external agencies.
  • Drive improvements in customer acquisition costs, return on ad spend, lifetime value, and marketing effectiveness.
  • Align brand-building activities with demand creation and performance marketing goals.
  • Manage senior commercial relationships with platform partners such as Google, Meta, Microsoft, Pinterest, and TikTok, leveraging these to explore new growth opportunities and emerging digital capabilities.
  • Handle relationships with specialist third-party digital partners, ensuring they deliver measurable commercial benefits and support growth aims.
  • Own the ecommerce customer journey and lead CRO initiatives by prioritising and running testing programs to refine website performance and online sales.
  • Collaborate with UX and development teams to enhance customer experience and ecommerce results, fostering a test-and-learn culture grounded in data analysis.
  • Manage and mentor the Marketing Manager, PPC Manager, Web Manager, and their teams, overseeing performance marketing, CRM, SEO, content, and digital growth activities.
  • Work with the Business Intelligence team to apply data-driven insights in decision-making and performance tracking.
  • Coordinate with the Head of Graphics & Design to ensure brand, creative content, and commercial objectives align.
  • Partner with Customer Care and Trade & Telesales teams to address customer pain points and manage ecommerce performance, including the trade online ordering portal.
  • Prepare regular trading and performance reports with actionable recommendations.
  • Develop annual trading, marketing, and growth plans and assist with budgeting, forecasting, and long-range strategic planning.
  • Monitor key commercial metrics related to acquisition, conversion, retention, and profitability, delivering strategic guidance to the Commercial Director and leadership team.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Demonstrated track record in ecommerce, digital trading, and performance marketing managing marketing budgets exceeding A310 million annually.
  • Proficiency in Paid Search, Paid Social, SEO, CRM, email marketing, and digital customer acquisition channels.
  • Experience working in fast-paced settings handling large-scale digital marketing budgets and multiple acquisition streams.
  • Direct involvement with leading advertising platforms including Google, Meta, and Microsoft.
  • Strong commercial insight to balance business growth, profitability, and acquisition efficiency.
  • Skilled at managing cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders across departments.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience with CRO, customer journey enhancement, and ecommerce trading environments.
  • Previous work in multi-brand, consumer-oriented, or rapidly expanding organizations is beneficial.

Compensation and Benefits

The position offers an annual salary ranging from A375,000 to A390,000. Benefits include a casual dress code, company events, pension scheme, employee discounts, flexible work hours, free and on-site parking, and work-from-home options.
